Wayne E. Murray
Our father Wayne E. Murray was the founder of Whispering Hills. It was his vision that began this beautiful park. It was his dream to see it developed into a great family campground.
 OUR HISTORY & FOUNDER

As we walked into Hemlock Gorge for the first time in 1967 from a neighboring property, it was love at first sight. The natural beauty of this land immediately started the wheels turning for its possibilities. By the spring of 1968, the original acreage was purchased and development was well underway by fall. On those early hikes over the rolling hills and along the gentle stream of its’ deep, cool valley, as the gentle breezes whispered through the trees, his dreams for Whispering Hills were born. He had the skills, drive and the work ethic of two persons, and few would have accomplished what he did in his lifetime. Although he died Dec. 9, 1972 at the age of 51, I tell people he really was 102 years old. We were blessed by his life, and we inherited his passion to see that today’s Whispering Hills RV Park reflects his initial perception of what it could be. Thanks Dad.
